CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE- Have you received an abnormal AFP test?
- Have you had a Chorionic Villi Sampling (CVS) that has resulted in a disorder?
- Have you had an amniocentesis that has resulted in a disorder?
- Have you had a nuchal translucency test that indicates possible problems?
- Have you had genetic testing that results indicate: Down Syndrome Anencephaly, Spina Bifida, Trisomy 13, 15 or 17, Turner's Syndrome, Fragile X syndrome or Kleinfelter's Syndrome?
- Have you had multiple miscarriages?
- Have you had a child that has a disorder? Are you or your family experiencing coping issues?
- Have you or a family member been diagnosed with Huntington's?
- Have you or a family member been diagnosed with the Breast Cancer (BRCA) gene?
- Have you, your child in utero, or a family member been diagnosed with: Cystic Fibrosis, Sickle Cell anemia, Taysach's, Gaucher, Canavan, Fanconi Anemia, Niemann Pick, Bloom syndrome, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Charcot Marie Tooth, or any other genetic disorders?
While I am not a genetics counselor, my background is in biology and I have worked with a genetics counselor and cytogenetic technicians in the past.I am familiar with genetic disorders and how the health of a child and/or fetus can impact people and families.If you have already seen a genetics counselor and/or want to talk about the psychological and emotional implications of the results, please don't hesitate to call.
With the capability of identifying Huntington's and Breast Cancer and other adult disorders, many family questions arise including:Whom do you share this information with?When and how do you tell children? Please contact me for guidance.
